How to Measure Your Pet
Measure the Chest
Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the widest part of the rib cage, usually just behind the front legs. The manufacturer recommends allowing approximately 0.8–1.2 inches (2–3 cm) beyond the close body measurement.
Measure the Back Length
Have your pet stand naturally on all four legs. Measure from the base of the neck to the point where the tail begins.
Check the Neck
