Slow Feeder Bowls for Automatic Microchip Cat Feeders
The Baofum Slow Feeder Bowl Set adds a slower-feeding option to a compatible automatic microchip pet feeder. Each bowl contains raised posts that require the cat to navigate around the interior instead of taking unrestricted mouthfuls.
This three-piece set includes a single slow-feed bowl, a divided slow-feed bowl and a coordinating mat. The automatic feeder shown in the listing is not part of the package.
Confirm Feeder Compatibility
The bowls are designed to fit the microchip feeder style displayed in the product images. Similar feeders may have different bowl compartments, lid clearances or internal dimensions.
Electronic Feeder Not Included
This listing supplies replacement feeding accessories only. It does not include a microchip reader, automatic lid, feeder base, batteries or power components.
Raised Slow-Feeding Pattern
Rounded posts are distributed across the bowl surface to create a more challenging route to the food.
Encourages a More Measured Eating Pace
The obstacle pattern can extend mealtime and discourage rapid gulping. The manufacturer states that the design may slow eating substantially compared with a conventional open bowl.
Results Vary Between Pets
Feeding speed depends on food type, portion size, the cat’s behaviour and familiarity with puzzle bowls. Introduce the new bowl gradually and make sure your cat can access enough food comfortably.
Single and Divided Bowl Options
The set provides two configurations for different feeding routines.
Single-Compartment Bowl
The open slow-feed layout keeps one food type together while spreading it around the raised posts.
Divided Bowl
A central divider separates the bowl into two sections. It can hold two different foods or food and water when appropriate.
Do Not Overfill
Keep food below the height needed for the automatic feeder lid to operate correctly. After installation, test the lid several times before allowing unsupervised access.
Food-Catching Mat
The matching mat is positioned directly in front of the feeder to collect crumbs and pieces of food that fall outside the bowl.
Helps Keep the Feeding Area Tidier
The mat creates a removable surface beneath the cat’s mouth and front paws, making everyday cleanup more convenient.
Clean Spills Promptly
The mat does not absorb or contain every spill. Remove wet food and standing water promptly to maintain a hygienic feeding area.
Food-Grade Polypropylene Construction
The grey bowls are made from polypropylene, a lightweight material commonly used for pet-feeding accessories.
Maximum Listed Temperature
The manufacturer lists a maximum heat resistance of 70°C.
Hand Wash Only
Hand washing is recommended. The bowls are not recommended for dishwasher use, as high temperatures may warp or damage the material.

Installation and Use
Before First Use
Wash the bowls and mat by hand using warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and allow every piece to dry.
Place the Bowl in the Feeder
Seat the selected bowl evenly inside the feeder compartment. Confirm that it does not rock, shift or obstruct the automatic lid.
Test the Lid Mechanism
Activate the feeder several times before serving food. Stop using the accessory if the lid touches the bowl, cannot close fully or operates differently from normal.
Introducing a Slow Feeder
Start with Familiar Food
Use your cat’s normal food and begin with a manageable portion. You can initially place a few pieces in easier-to-reach areas around the posts.
Observe the First Meals
Make sure the cat can retrieve food without excessive frustration, paw trapping or avoidance.
Not Suitable for Every Cat
Some cats with dental problems, facial sensitivity or mobility limitations may struggle with raised obstacles. Consult a veterinarian if you are unsure whether a slow feeder is appropriate.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Hand wash the bowls and mat after use, particularly when serving wet or raw food. Clean carefully around every raised post and along the divider where residue may collect.
Inspect the bowls for cracks, rough areas, warping or sharp edges. Replace any damaged component immediately.
Feeding and Safety Information
A slow feeder may encourage more measured eating, but it does not guarantee prevention of choking, vomiting, bloating or digestive problems. Seek veterinary advice if your cat regularly eats excessively fast or experiences ongoing digestive symptoms.
Use only under appropriate supervision until compatibility and feeding behaviour have been confirmed. Do not heat above 70°C, place in a dishwasher or use damaged bowls with exposed sharp edges.
